The 50th birthday is very special one. It's a jubilee. So you have to prepare something very special for this day!

For example: you can send invitations, designed with your favorite band, or if you like fishing - a picture of yours doing that. It will ease your friends with the decision what kind of present to give you for the birthday. If you do that you can expect presents, which would be useful and appreciated by you, not some trivial presents, like a pen or something like that. A themed party is always a good decision! It breaks the ice and warms up the atmosphere. If you don't want your guests to stand in the corners of your home or the club, where you are celebrating - think of some funny theme, like:
- Sea theme - you can tell your guests to put some sailor's suits or dress up like fishes or mermaids if you love the sea and decorate the space with some sea motives.
- Old movies theme - you can arrange the decoration with some black and white pictures from old movies and ask your guests to wear retro costumes. This is a good decision if you prefer more formal atmosphere and it's quite appropriate for 50th birthday party.
- Hunting theme - if you are into hunting you can make a hunting party. Let everybody dress like hunters or animals.
- "When we were young" party - this is also very funny idea. Tell your guests to wear clothes back from that age, play some popular music from your youth, project some movies, and make some punch... Don't forget the hairstyles! It would be interesting even for your younger guests. Tell them to make a small research on what had been popular during this period of time and dress up like that.
- "What happened on your date of birthday" theme - arrange the decoration with some newspapers, photos and etc. related to the date you were born. They may not be specifically from the same year, but throughout the history. Make a small research on what has happened on this day and you'll get some ideas... whether to make the whole theme of the party related to a certain event in the history or with a lot of significant and not so significant events that happened on that day.
