Chinese Zodiac Product Review
| The Chinese animal zodiac signs correspond to a 12-year cycle used for dating the years. This cyclical concept of time differs from the Western which is linear. Based on the cycles of the moon, the Chinese Lunar Calendar marks the beginning of the year somewhere between late January and early February. | |
The
Legend: Chinese legend goes as follows: twelve animals
quarreled one day as to who was to come first in the cycle of years.
They asked the gods to decide and a contest was organized: whoever
reached the opposite bank of the river would start and the rest
would go according to their finish. |
|
| The twelve animals jumped in the river. Unknown to the ox, the rat had hopped on his back and just before the finish jumped off and won the race. The pig ended up last on account of his laziness. And that’s why the rat is first, the ox is second, and the pig is last in the animal cycle of years. |
